Mr. Billy M. Erwood, age 84 of Newaygo, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at Transitional Health Services near Fremont. He was born Billy Max Erwood in Grand Rapids, the son of Leona (Nelson) and Freeland Erwood on December 24, 1923. He married Louise June Fay on June 15, 1948 in Grand Rapids and she preceded him in death on July 2, 1980. He then married Esther June Hulst on September 29, 1981 in Grand Rapids. He was a Spinner for Federal Mogul until 1986 retiring after 25 years. He was a veteran having served in the Navy during World War II from February 7, 1941 to February 23, 1953 when he was discharged.

He is survived by his wife Esther Erwood, his son Jon & Heidi Erwood of Caledonia, his step-daughter Corrine Christiansen of Grand Rapids, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter, his sister Arla Gentry of San Diego, CA, sister-in-law Iris Davidson of Grant,

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM from the McKinley Newaygo Chapel, on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 with Mr. Steve Hulst officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. For Memorials please consider Hospice of Michigan. Please sign the online guest book at www.mckinleyfuneral.com.

My Dad Henry Crandall was Bill's roommate for the time he was at Transitional. My Dad thought a lot of Bill and enjoyed talking to his family when they'd visit. Our thoughts go out to the family during this sad time.
